Fritz Eichenberg studied art in his native Germany. He brought his family to America in 1933 at the rise of Hitler. He was known for his woodcuts with social and political themes. This particular book, Dancing In The Moon, was done in colored pencil for young children and shows his skill at portraying animals. The book was published in 1955 and is dedicated to fellow expatriate Albert Einstein.
