Jerry Robinson

Jerry Robinson was a teenager when he began working for Bob Kane, creator of Batman. He worked in the comic book field for many years, but was also a versatile illustrator. These drawings are from the 1975 Scholastic edition of the 1952 book, The Phantom Brakeman by Freeman Hubbard. Robinson's action-packed illustrative style owes a lot to his work in the comics. In 2007 Robinson was hired by Batman publisher, DC Comics, to be their creative consultant, bringing his career full circle.
